Hi !

For those of you who don’t know me I am Hannah from Bella Barre.

My Passion is Bella Barre and what the classes offer to each individual woman.

I have always had a drive toward health and fitness, working in the industry in one capacity or another since graduating from College.
Yet until I created Bella Barre I had never really felt I had found a form of exercise which encompassed everything I was looking for in one class.

I love to be challenged, yet I do not love heavy weight work, or intense cardio, my body simply does not respond well to this form of exercise.
I bulk up, injure myself and ultimately lose interest pretty fast.

I have danced since I can remember both for fun and competitively. I love the freedom of expression it allows and also the physical results which come from dance.

Pilates has always honoured my body and given me the core strength, posture and lengthening of muscle which my body craves.

Yoga has been a part of my life on and off for many years, I love the internalisation and challenge yoga offers, and although I thoroughly respect and admire people who encompass all that is yoga and make it such a dedicated practice. I unfortunately tend to commit and then drop off after a while. Probably due to my crazy over active mind ( probably a sign I really end to continue some yoga practice 😂)

Barre work for me offers the challenge and limited impact on my joints, which I need.
I love the burn of the small isometric movements, challenging each muscle intensely.
I love the lengthening and muscle control required to complete each series of moves.

Light weights and theraband work offers – again the smaller, repetive moves working small muscle groups for toned, yet not bulky muscle.

There are many forms of Barre, Pilates, Yoga Fusion Classes around and I believe they are all moving in an exciting direction when it comes to fitness.

For me I like a class which has a predictable flow, yet is different every class.

I like a class which encompasses all of the 3 modalities of fitness in a fast moving flow, from one move to the next, so that the class is over before you know it.

I love to allow my ladies time at the end of each class, to thank their bodies with some yoga breath and stretch

I believe it is in this last 10 minutes that your bodies thank you for the last 50 minutes of work.
You feel the energy which has been coursing through you settle and spread as you internalise your attention.
Leaving the class feeling toned, stretched, energised yet calm and centred.

I love welcoming ladies from all levels of fitness, backgrounds, ages everybody is welcome

There is no judgement – just a group of ladies joined in their mission to push themselves to their own personal limit.

On a physical level, I love the shape my body has taken.
I stand tall, and can see muscle definition I have never had before. My tummy was always the area of my body I least loved…Now I wear bikinis with pride. There is no six pack, but my tummy is flatter and less jiggly than it has ever been.

Mindfulness or Chocolate?

Why is mindfulness better than chocolate?
Mindfulness or self-awareness helps us to break down fear as we get much better at being with our fears and releasing them. We might deny our fear but unfortunately this helps to sabotage us.

By nourishing ourselves with compassion, kindness and forgiveness and letting go of our judgements we can foster our happiness, health and harmony.

Yoga Chi Gung (YCG) as a mindfulness practice helps dissipate fear as we are with the breath in a flowing meditation. We become more attuned to accepting the various body sensations and emotions and we meet our fears.

We need to feel good about ourselves to participate fully in relationships and to enjoy a fulfilling life and we can do that with a little chocolate and YCG. In feeling good about ourselves we can see the clear connections between the body, mind and spirit.

Commencing on 1 March a total of 4 classes will be offered weekly at Mudjimba and Mapleton. Looking forward to the new Range Energy classes at Mapleton on Friday mornings. The first class at Mapleton on 1 March will be followed by a rainforest walk at Mapleton Falls and lunch at The Barn on Flaxton.
